Our owner and operator, Jack Borba, was born and raised in the local area and began working in the trade with his father before the age of ten. Taking college courses at night, Jack worked through an extensive apprenticeship program and soon held journeyman, foreman, superintendent, and branch manager positions at established local companies. In 1999, Jack decided to start his own construction company. Working out of his truck and a small office, Jack has built Straight Line Roofing & Construction into the most trusted residential construction company in Northern California.

Licensed Contractors
Many contractors are general contractors, and they’re not licensed to do individual specialty projects. However, they may still try to do the projects even without the proper licensing.

Insured California Contractors
Did you know that California doesn’t require liability insurance and many companies don’t have worker’s compensation? Both of these are very important in protecting not only you and your property but also the safety of the crews performing the work.
We carry workers’ compensation, automobile, and liability insurance, which, unlike most insurance policies, will cover damages to your project even while it’s undergoing construction. We always recommend customers ask for proof of insurance from any contractor they contact.
On top of our insurance, we pride ourselves on ensuring our crews are fully trained:
- Field employees are safety trained and provided with the appropriate equipment by our in-house safety director.
- Site foremen hold pre-job safety meetings and work with the crew to ensure their safety on every job.
- At the end of each day, we leave your project clean, organized, and watertight.
- We carry workman’s compensation, automobile, and $4 million in liability insurance which, unlike most insurance policies, will cover damages to your project even while exposed during construction.
- With our Umbrella Policy, we have $5 million worth of insurance
